  • Salary: fixed salary of min. 2.500€ gross during the entire training. No additional costs!

Your profile

  • You are a refugee or migrant (receiving social benefits)
  • Your are a responsible, willing to learn and are interested in technical things
  • You already have B2 German skills or better
  • You have a recognized school-leaving certificate (if your certificate is not yet recognized in Germany we will check the possibility of recognition)
  • You can work in shifts (Sundays and public holidays too for train drivers)
  • You live in Stuttgart or the surrounding area

What we offer

  • Contract for 2 or 2.5 years for retraining at Deutsche Bahn with subsequent automatic option for permanent employment after successful completion

  • As a Deutsche Bahn employee, we will train you to become a railway worker specializing in train driving (2 years) an industrial electronics technician (2.5 years)
  • You will take the official theoretical and practical examination at the IHK at the end and receive the vocational qualification certificate

Become a train driver...

After your retraining as a train driver, you will:
  • Ensure that our passengers reach their destination safely, punctually and comfortably
  • Ensure the passenger information is correct and contribute to a high service quality
  • Check the technical operational capability of the traction units
  • Work closely and cooperatively with other partners in the transport process

...or an electronics technician!

After your retraining as an electronics technician, you will:
  • Take over the scheduled maintenance of our electric traction units in the area of electrics / electronics (e.g. traction and braking control, train control, doors, heating and air-conditioning systems, power supply, drive systems and passenger-relevant equipment such as the passenger information system or the lighting)
  • Be responsible for the associated unscheduled maintenance of our electric traction units (troubleshooting and, if necessary, component replacement on the above-mentioned systems)

You contact us and send us your application documents, e.g. your resume (CV). Afterwards, we get to know each other during a personal interview (online).

The Recruiting Day

After your successful interview with us, you will get to introduce yourself to our renowned partner company (online).

Start the qualification

At the beginning, you can expect exciting learning weeks in which we prepare you optimally for the coming year as a trainee. While our training partners get you ready for your first basic project management certification, you develop your personal strengths with socialbee’s professional soft skills training and learn everything about working life in Germany! You will also meet other inspiring women in Female Empowerment Sessions who will tell you more about their secret to success.

Start the traineeship

The first phase of your traineeship (T1) is dedicated to learning on the job. You will work 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday) on a small project in your partner company and will be supported from all sides. Every Friday is training day with intensive group and individual training sessions as well as time to learn and apply new knowledge directly to your project. At the end of Phase T1, you will also complete certification as a Professional Scrum Master.

Full-time training

Congratulations! As a future train driver or electronics technician, you will learn everything you need to know for your new working day in full-time (Monday – Friday)! Starting from day one, you will earn a full-time salary of at least 2.500€ gross. We will also be here for you at all times during the training in case you have any questions or issues. Long-term employment

After 2.5 exciting years, you will have completed the training and, if you pass the exams, you will be offered a permanent position with Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s largest long-distance transport company!
